3 Be Happy Quotes To Live By

Be happy quote of the day

Happiness is never stopping to think if you are.
Palmer Sondreal

be happy quotesI love this quote because it says so much with so few words. If you think about it, you know you are happy, and it’s pointless to ask yourself wheather you are or are not happy. It’s a state of mind that you have. When you start and think if you have it or not, one thing is clear: You’re not happy!

Of course it’s not the end of the world, and you shouldn’t worry about it, because that is the reason this very website exists: to help you to Be Happy. Being happy is not an objective, or a target, is a beautiful journey that you can make alone, or with a partner.

I prefer to consider the people around me the reason I am happy. It’s no secret that building lasting and fruitful relationships with others can in fact make you a happier person, isn’t it? – So don’t forget to cherish your family, friends, and colleagues, because a life being solo ain’t a good life.

The foolish man seeks happiness in the distance; the wise grows it under his feet.
James Openheim

This be happy quote empowers what I said above about friendships and relationships. It’ is foolish to think you can find happiness in material-physical things. Our society emphasizes on that idea, and sooner rather than later we find out that having that 82″ inch LED TV, that Dodge Charger (or whatever muscle car you want), that MacBook Pro, or any other gadget that appeared doesn’t bring us that comforting feeling of being happy and content.

Have you ever asked yourselves why? Well, others have, and the answer they found is pretty much the same. It sounds like this: “Money doesn’t bring happiness”. You can have all the money in the world, drive the latest cars, and buy the most outrageous and expensive things you can think of, but if you don’t have someone to share them to, or health for that matter, it’s all in vain. You will feel empty, and lonely.

That brings us to the third empowering quote for today:

Happiness is like a butterfly which, when pursued, is always beyond our grasp, but, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you.
Nathaniel Hawthorne

So you see, you can already be happy! We work hard to achieve our goals, we go to colleges, universities, we get our PhD to have a well paid job. We then make our best to find the best job that can fill our need for personal growth, and that of course aligns with our vision of earning more for our knowledge. Later in life we find that all this struggle and fighting is for nothing. We’re not happier, we’re definitely not healthier, and on top of that we don’t have good relationships with our families.

The above quote is very true, because you should not pursue happiness. That’s not the way to get there. Better yet, relax, and let it come to you. That doesn’t mean that you have to passively wait to be happy, but rather learn to enjoy what you have in life.

Meditation is a very good way to get to happiness. Our society doesn’t encourage meditation. We have so much on our plate every day, that we barely find time to sleep. But by taking 5 minutes out of our daily routine to meditate, we can learn to treasure the things we have. The things that are the most precious in life. Things like your children, your spouse or boyfriend/girlfriend, your best friend!

I hope this first post made you think about the reasons you have to be happy, and if you have your own quotes that you live by, I’d be happy to read them.

Thank you,
